Well, the doctor finally got the pair of Red Mallee chalices that he wanted.
Here is the second one.
5 1/2" x 10" - AO finish and buffed.

And here it is pictured with the original one. Not an exact duplicate of anything included the pedestal but I am not good enough to make an exact copy.

As always, all comments welcomed.

Absolutely fantastic... The simple base allows the beautiful burl to shine. I think they are perfect.

Toney, they are beautiful, and enough alike that if not placed immediately next to each other like in the picture, it would be hard to notice the difference. I think anyone would be pleased with them, I have a piece of burl that I am planning a similar treatment - I hope mine come out half as good.

Very nice!
The differences that I can see are very subtle. I'm sure most people won't even notice that they are there.
I love the color and styles of them.

Tony,
Those are just what the doctor ordered! Even if they were made with a cnc machine I contend that they would not be exactly the same. Personally I think they should MATCH each other as your do very well. Since there's not much use watching IU basketball, we may as well turn:mad:.

Oh I will ALWAYS watch IU. I have not missed a game for probably 15 years. No reason to start now.
