I've started doing undercut rims on bowls and I'd like to get a tool that makes it easier and more accessible. I've looked at some of the Sorby tools with adjustable tips, but I'm not sure the best tool for this purpose. I haven't gotten into hollow forms yet so the intent for this is parimarily slightly to moderately undercut bowl rims.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Jake - any style of goose neck/swan neck tool works well for undercutting rims. Here is one example of the tool - I am not promoting the vendor or the tool - just using it as an example: http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com/store/Turning_Tools___Hollowing_Tools___Robert_Sorby_Hol lowing_Tools___Robert_Sorby_Multi_Tip_Hollowing_To ol___sorby_multi_tip?Args=

Jake, I've made several of my own tools for getting under the rims in hollowforms. They'll also work for undercutting bowl rims. Here's a shot of some of them. http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=103839
