This last bowl of mine got just a little thin...
Keen eyes will see the light coming through near the bottom.
Upside I realized what was going on before I had a very shallow bowl and a halo....

Really to bad as the figure is nice.
The bottom could of been a bit deeper but I was afraid the thing would come apart.
Leave well enough alone I figured.

Gary, the wood is striking! The finish really brought out the figure. Good shape - good job. Thin is in!

Gary - sure is a pretty bowl!

I have a few turnings that have the same problem - letting light through where it shouldn't! Most folks that see them never even notice. Once pointed out - usually all they say is 'Wow, that's thin!'

Very nice form on this one! Beautiful wood and finish! Looking forward to seeing your next one!

Nice bowl shape and beautiful wood. As long as it didn't blow apart you're doing good :)

Nice shape and beautiful wood. Just make sure you display it somewhere where it won't be lit like it is in the first photo... You'll be the only one who knows.

Really nice bowl. Great form and wood. That is a lesson you won't forget.

Lesson learned? Translucence is something some of us strive for! Nice job! I wish I could get light through my bowls.
