I got the kits from Hut Products. I can't praise their customer service enough. The first package go lost in the mail, they sent out a second no questions asked. With their game call turning kit (#3000) I was able to turn both parts on my pen mandrel. They have compression fittings to hold the blanks. I drilled my own lacewood blanks, as it was a much better price for me to do it, than buy theirs. The deer call is number 3021. The wood I used is lacewood. It sounds great to me and my buddies at work that deer hunt.

And a picture of it in it's case.

Hmmmm.... A lathe, eh? Maybe there are a few reasons to have one. Nice work.

Thanks for the compliments guys! They are appreciated. If anyone is interested in making game calls, check out hut products. I am not affiliated with them, just a very happy customer. Their instruction sheets are very clear.

Jeff, nice looking call. I wonder if the deer care about how nice the call looks. Thank goodness we do. I love to turn lacewood pens. Try it, they seem to sell well...
