My dewalt plnge router is going down and Ii need a new plunge router. I have one dedicated to a table (hitatchi m12v beast)

I was looking at a used porter cable with a plunge and a fixed base but then I found a ryobi r-161 plunge I can get for $30. the pc combo set is $125

I know its a ryobi but its only $30.

any opinions on it.

Keith

I have the ryobi re181 plunge router. I got it for 89 dollars at Home depot. It is a 2 hp plunge router. I like it. It plunges very easily. Another thing I like about it is the on/off swithch is right next to the handle so it is easy to shut off with out taking your hands off either handle.

As it turned out the r 161 is not a plunge router, I should have done better research on the web as i came to find out the person who was selling it didn't really know what a plunge router was.

So no ryobi for me.

At $30 I may have still bought it if it had a 1/2" collet
