Here's a few "thingamagigs" I made yesterday for a family Christmas party (ring holders?). The first one I tried did not make it out of the shop. The second didn't have very symmetric top and bottom arches (maple on in the foreground), but they did get better as I progressed. Anyway, they were a lot of fun to do and I definitely learned a lot (and hey, they're for family... they have to accept and smile :) ).

Two curly maple and two purpleheart (freshly cut so not so purple). About 4"x4".

I like 'em. I've been wanting to turn something with that type of wing or leg or whatever it's called.

Nice work Jon! The best part of turning is that you get to use your imagination! Really like your choice of woods!
