I have made cracker and cheese platters using the tiles sold at Craft Supplies. These are $5.00 a pop. Is there an alternative to these that would stand the punishment or is there anyplace in which they would be less costly.

If you don't mind breaking from tradition you can use square marble or granite tiles. They come in various sizes. I like to use them for hotplates framed in wood. You can get them at your local borg.Another source for cheap tiles is a habitat for humanity restore.I have one locally and they are a reasonably cheap source.
