Hey all, long time no post...

I have a client/freind that wants a custom engraved marble block like this rendering I made.

Does anyone know where to get one like this?
The block needs to be 8" square.
Thanks,
David

Probably need to go to a granite supplier, someone who cuts their own slabs from the block.

I'm not even going to ask how you plan to get it into the laser...

It will not be hard at all...
Right through the front door..

It will not be hard at all...
Right through the front door..It's also 8" tall, no matter which way you point it: will your laser handle something that high?

(Not to mention that it weighs on the order of 30lbs.)

Lee,

The PLS will handle 9"+ and 50lbs+

The PLS will handle 9"+ and 50lbs+Live and learn.

I thought it might handle the height, but that weight capacity is what really surprises me.

Well, I wouldn't try moving the table with that kind of weight on it, but it will support it without a problem... you just have to focus first.

Any idea how to contact the suppliers?

David,

I'd be happy to help, but I don't have any stock that thick. You might try contacting some fabricators in Elberton, GA. There are several shops in that area that work with large stock granite (I'm not sure about marble), and actually turn lamp bases, urns, and flower vases from stone. If you don't have any luck, let me know. We might be able to glue up stock but you would see seam lines.
