I am wondering how the seat railing wraps around the top of the front chair legs. I am not sure if its just a rabbet with glue or glue and screws or something else. Sorry to only have a link and not a picture. Thanks for your help. http://www.prairiespirit.com/images/slanthussxsix.jpg I am right now accumulating wood for this project. Also any pointers for mortises in the top of the chair where the slanted rails connect would be great.

I'm guessing that the front legs attach as I show in the drawing. Basically, a 2-sided tenon.

That is what I was thinking, but just glue this or maybe epoxy or something.

I do tables like that occasionally. I reinforce the "tenon" with a glue bock on each side that is glued and screwed to both the tenon and the railings. I make it almost the height of the railings and about 7/8 square if there is room.
