Madrone burl hollow form

This is from some of the latest Madrone burl I've gotten. The form isn't exactly what I wanted, but the wood makes up for it. The collar is Bloodwood. It measures 8-1/2" tall and 4" across, the wall thickness is 1/2" I wanted a little mass with this one. Finished with Tung oil and than buffed.

That is beautiful wood and a very nice finish. I'm with you on the form as a stand alone item, but I wonder what it would look like with something projecting out of the top (decorative sticks, grasses, etc). Beautiful finish.
