Does anyone out there have the Lee Valley bevel edge chisels? How do you like them? I'm thinking about getting a set, but those plastic handles are kinda not so good looking and I don't know how the chisels perform.

FWW did a review of bench chisels a couple of years ago and they came out average. I have a set that I keep in my tool bag and haul around to jobs and they work fine for me. I also keep a set of Hirsch in the shop that I like the feel of better.

Aaron,
I have to agree with Steve's assessment. I bought a set early in my WWing and used them for a while. Then I tried some Two Cherries (same as the Hirsch) and discovered that I liked the feeling of the handles and the balance of the 2Cs much better. If you can try out different chisels before you buy, you may discover that your preference is different. My L-Vs now reside in my toolbox, get used a lot, and I don't cringe when family members pry open paint cans or drop them to the floor.
