Air Compressor

Harbor Freight do a nice one, quiet and have had no problems with it :D

That looks a lot like the one I use, from Airbrush City (probably cheaper at HF) which has held up 4 years so far with a steady 25 lbs of air assist.

I also use the one from HF like Dave has pictured. I have noticed that under extended operation ( 1 hour ) mine gets extremely hot to the touch. So don't pick it up or touch the body, use the provided handle. That being said, it works great. The included moisture trap, regulator, and gauge are a nice plus. There is no "spitting" of water droplets onto the work piece.

I have been using that compressor for over 2 years on my ULS and no problems.

Only used it a little over a month but got a 2 cyl. from Northern Tool for just under $100 and it works great.

I used a HF compressor similar to the one mentioned. After running the laser on a 5 hour job, it burned up. I have another HF compressor, but it's a 2hp, 8gal, oil bath. It is VERY quiet compared to an oilless, but still noisy compared to the airbrush compressor. One big difference though - it runs about every 15 minutes where the airbrush compressor ran continuously. I have a job that I run several times a month that keeps the laser running continuously for 4-6 hours and this compressor handles it just fine.

I have a 25 watt GCC Mercury and run the laser for about 6 hours a day.
I have a 5 gallon 2 Hp that is about 15 years old and it generates a lot of water and it turns on about every 10 minutes and is to loud.
I'm not sure that a HF unit is the way to go.

One caution. I have an Epilog Zing, which has the curtain-style air assist. The HF compressor is really not up to task for this laser.
