There's a new bad boy in town... electromagnetic field pulsing. :cool:

I'm pretty impressed with the ability to cut thick metal, but no mention is made as to the level of detail possible with the method.

Looks like it works through magnetic "pressure" punching out a slug.

I like it- punch out your design and sort out the neighbours at the same time. That's what I call productive.

Details were a bit sketchy... it mentioned there is no burr on the underside, but no amount of pressure can do that without a perfectly matching mask pate underneath, and this process supposedly avoids that.

I wouldn't mind knowing more about it, if for no other reason than to see an actual "cutting" head.

Yeah, the technology has been used for a while now to expand tubing, but the ability to punch holes in a surface is new... I want to know how THAT works!
