Well here is one of the many projects I have built. One curio is made of Oak and one of Butternut. These were made from a plan not of my design. Will post more pics of other projects as long as I don't bore you with pics(certainly not Tyler or Chris).
Thanks for looking Tom

Tom....they are gorgeous! I especially like the grain in the butternut! What did you use for a finish?

Very nice, Tom. The butternut brings back memories from when I was very young...the very modest house my parents owned until just before I entered second grade was filled with butternut built-ins...a lot art in most homes these days.

Hi Tom,
Very nice work!! How did you like working with the butternut? I have 50+ bft and haven't found the right project for it. It looks great for this design. I was planning on making a Shaker style table to fit behind a sofa, approx. 12"-16" wide, 60" long and 30"-34" high. Do you think the wood is strong enough for the M&T joints and fine tapered legs?? Thanks, John

Butternut is very easy to work,I think it would be ok for M&T.

Some folks call Butternut "white walnut" as they are closely related. It's perfectly fine for normal joinery and furniture projects. It is a little softer than black walnut, but very nice!

Blonde walnut is more appropriate IMO.
I just want to make sure everyone here knows which curio cab is butternut and which is oak!! :) Do you?? :D
