After working long and hard on my idea I thought it would change the world and I was going to be rich. I had read too many comments and posts where someone uses the word "irony" wrong. It happens all the time. People try to use the word to sound smart but they don't REALLY know what irony is and it bugs the peepee outta me. So..........

I invented an Irony Detector.

But alas, it doesn't work. It detects everything but irony.

Yeah, what bugs me is when writers loose:( the first "o" in "too".

If a magnet sticks to it there may be "irony" hidden in there somewhere. :D

Isn't it ironic? (pause, drum beat) Like ray-ee-ain, on your wedding day...

Or add an "o" in "lose", yep, that there's ironic. :D:D:D

I don't have an irony detector, but I DO have a BS detector, and it just went off.

You know, the most goofy thing about that song...that only one lyric contains irony. Everything in the song is unfortunate but not ironic.

You know, the most goofy thing about that song...that only one lyric contains irony. Everything in the song is unfortunate but not ironic.

She did an acoustic remake of that album where she changed a line to make it ironic instead of merely unfortunate:

"It's like meeting the perfect man and then meeting his....husband" (can't recall the preceding line, but she sacrificed the rhyme to change the lyric)

Then she emphasized in the next line: "Isn't it ironic - YEAH, I REALLY DO THINK."

When I first heard that version I figured she'd received enough grief over the song over the years and she was addressing her critics. I never thought much of Alanys before but I admired her for making that artistic decision.
