The Dallas Arboretum is currently displaying a number of David Roger's Big Bug sculptures which are all made of wood - willow, black locust, black walnut, red cedar, etc.

These bugs are an awesome sight to behold.

If you have an opportunity to visit the Dallas Arboretum before December 31 you will be immensely entertained by these creatures.

I believe the praying mantiss weighs in at around 1200 lbs. These bugs are big!

We are going to see this next week. I love the Arboretum. It's the old DeGoyler estate...we used to play frisbee on the grounds back when it was open to the public as part of White Rock Park. The gardens the DeGoylers planted were extensive and the pathways through them are very interesting...especially the one through the largest stand of Bamboo I have ever seen. Right now would be perfect...right after a rain.

Kelly,

If it has been a while since you visited you are in for a real treat.

We are definitely world class now!

I know you've been doing a lot of work there, I pass by every week at least once. Can't wait to see the new improvements!
