View Full Version : Yew Vase with carved & burnt rim

Not been about much this year but thought I must post something before the end of the year, unfortunately the picture looks squashed up a bit in height not sure why.

About the vase the detailed rim was carved with the proxon long neck grinder fitted with a king arthur blade (chainsaw blade) and then used pyrograph tool to burn individual lines in the rim ,any comments on the piece always welcome.

David - Great to see you posting again! Very nice vase! Really like the form and your carved/textured rim! Did you enter this in your club's competition?

Thanks everyone for your kind comments, Steve yes it was indeed the vase I entered in our club competition earlier in the year and I'm very pleased to say I got a 1st in the intermediate class with it, thanks for looking.
