I need to rout a grease groove in a cutting board using a PC 690 set up with a plunge base, probably using a core box or fluting bit, and need to find a template guide big enough to handle a 3/4 inch bit. Does such a thing exist, and if so, where?

Thanks

Why not just use an edge guide?

Porter Cable numbers 42030 ID 25/32 OD 1.0" $7.75
42021 ID 1 1/32" OD 1 1/4" $13.50
Both available at Amazon.com or call the Dewalt Service Center @ 1-301-333-0865. I got mine on line through the service center but now it says you have to call. Now that Dewalt, B&D, and Porter Cable are one big family service is going down? Who would have thought that? Also found PC# 42048 ID 1 3/8" OD 1 35/64" 9.95 @ http://www.coastaltool.com/a/port/prrtemp.htm. I have one of these guides, it is for hinges with 5/8" radius corners. A friend turned it down to exactly 1.5" OD to make the math lots easier. With the larger opening you can see what is going on.

Thanks, Walter. I finally went searching and found the guides, although shipping that's more than the cost of the guide is a little hard to swallow. Do the guides you mention fit the standard 690 base (opening is the same on the fixed and plunge bases)?

Mike-The few times I've used a edge guide around a 90 degree corner, I found it troublesome to keep the guide on the edge the entire time. Any tips for avoiding that problem? Thanks

Thanks for the other responses as well.

Yes they fit in the base and the nut screws on inside the base.
