Heres a Quartersawn White Oak Bookshelve I just built. Sides are 1 1/8th thick. Shelves are 1 inch. Top and bottom are through mortised and pinned. Shelves are stop dadoes. It was fun to use the chisels a bit more. The back is QS white oak 1/4 ply.
Color was a match to another piece client had.

Nice work Craig. I especially like the through/pinned mortises.

Looks sturdy. Are the shelves fastened to the back at all and what is its width?

Excellent work, and that QSWO sure has some nice grain. Not a fan of the color, but that wasn't your call.

The width was 40x48x12.
The shelves are fastened to the sides by a couple 18 gauge nails and the back ply is nailed into them with staples.

Well done on the build and that is some pretty nice grain in that QS you had to work with...
