Lubricating band saw euro style blade guides?

I have a MiniMax MM16, and the wheels on the lower blade guide assembly aren't turning freely. What should I use to lubricate them? Couldn't find anything in the manual about that. Thanks.

Dan - I don't have a MiniMax, but the blade guides on my Agazzani are sealed and don't require lubrication. I have found that the lower guides tend to gum up a bit quicker with sawdust and pitch than the upper guides. A thorough cleaning with a bit of solvent and a toothbrush takes care of it for me.

YMMV, of course.

Dan, I take mine off once in awhile and soak them in PB Blaster and they roll freely again

I went through my MM20 early this summer with a cleaning - Mineral Spirit soak was advised by Sam Blasco and it does free them up.

The bearings on my bandsaw had metal dust shields, which didn't work well.

I replaced the bearings with ones that have rubber seals. They apparently seal properly since I don't have the gumming up issue any more.

I gave up on my Euro guides (MM20) and replaced them with Laguna ceramics. I couldn't get the Euro guides adjusted right, probably just me. So far I like the Laguna's better, much simpler for me to get adjusted right, and quieter.
