I sure do enjoy turning this wood. It has a reputation for dulling chainsaw chains, but it sure cuts easy and clean on the lathe. Just a plain little bowl with a round bottom, but sure is some pretty wood.

Very nice bowl Mark! Love the contrast in the wood grain - looks like it emits light! Very nice photos as well!

I just got some Osage form David Keller M.D. another new member on the Creek. We did a wood swap and I can't wait to turn it!! Thanks again David for the box of goodies! I hope mine comes out as nice as this bowl, in it's simplicity it lets the wood shine and the grain show through! Great bowl and thanks for sharing.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Jeff

Great little bowl, Mark. I agree that Bois d'Arc is a great wood, too. It cuts easy, is pretty stable and polishes to a fine shine. It may be my favorite wood of all.

Nice shape and finish. The Osage-orange (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osage-orange) looks great and I too like turning it.

Nice bowl Mark. Would not call it "little" at 9". Wish the O.O. I have was that big. Good seller too. Love the stuff.

Very nice... Pictures just don't do justice to bois d'arc. I'll bet that piece absolutely glows in natural light.

The form is perfect and it shows the wood to it's best. And the wood is spectacular.
