The woodturning club I belong to, The Golden Spike Woodturners, made this tree and the 125 turned ornaments on it for a local Christmas Tree charity auction. The tree stands about 7.5' tall and is decorated with 125 ornaments of every shape, size, and style. The tree is made from an alder center post and base, plywood rings hung with brass chain, and pine garland and lights. It was a fun project and sold for $650, all of the money going towards handicapped children. I managed to cut the top off in all the pictures, but here it is.

Wow! What a great idea! Congrats on raising $650 for the kids! Everyone who participated should be proud of their accomplishment! Very nice work - very nice!

Looks like I can see a couple of your ornaments and bells on the tree! Has to make you feel good! You and your club are to be commended! What a great example!

Great project, and BTW, $650 for that tree was a really good buy! ~$5/ornament, and the tree was free!

Wonderful cause for the kids!

That is a wonderful Christmas tree and the reason for it is even better! Helping others in need and doing good things is what made our country what it is, GREAT!! I hope we all can learn from wonderful things like what your club has done!

Great job, and have a very Happy Thanksgiving!!

Jeff

Fantastic... I agree with John that the buyer got a heck of a deal. Your group should be proud of your good deed.

Fabulous Curt!

Great cause!

I think I will try to make a smaller one for my house next year. It would also be a nice way to display them at a show.

Superior! I'm sorry I wasn't at the auction to bid it up. My hat is off to you all!
