After a short absence from woodworking I now have time to start Xmas presents. What a shock when I went down to pick up some rough red oak. $2.00 higher than what it was just 45 days ago. I would like to know where in the Denver area I can get some red oak under $4.00 a BDFT.
Thanks David

David,

Last time I looked Sears-Trostel in Ft Collins had 4/4 RO for under $4, but that was in mid-August.

David,

There is an individual who brings in wood to fort collins. I have copied the mail he sent in May. Maybe you could email him and ask for details:

This month’s sale will be Fri. 5/21 9am-5pm, & Sat. 5/22 8am-noon. I will be bringing 6/4 QS Sycamore, 16/4 very wide Curly Maple, 5/4 QS White Oak, 5/4 QS Red Oak, 4/4 Walnut, 5/8 Walnut crotches with very nice feather, 4/4 Red Oak. & 8/4 Figured Walnut.

I also have my regular inventory of green & kiln dried lumber, as well as a good selection of spalted woods & burls.

Sale will be held at 517A N. Link Lane, Ft. Collins, CO. If you have any questions you may reach me at 319-346-1948 (Parkersburg, IA) or 970-472-1846 (Ft. Collins, CO) or the email address below: PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF EMAIL ADDRESS TO:

I have been too busy to do anything about getting any wood since I am still working on the workshop. Maybe once I get all the "tasks" done I will also be more active.
