Had to take a break from the monotony of turning duck calls, so I decided to try my hand at making a pepper mill. I tried a dry run on a chunk of poplar, but I don't ever turn beads so I really stink at it....Decided to keep my first mill fairly simple.
I'm kind of dissapointed that I chose zebrawood for the middle. On either side of the zebrawood I used moradillo, and then walnut. Moradillo and cocobolo would've looked nicer. The finish is carnuba wax, applied after a good buffing on the Beall. It is about 12" tall overall. I used the stainless mechanism from Woodcraft.
Looks aside, the thing functions perfectly!
Comments and critiques are welcomed.....:)

Aaron,
That is one good looking pepper mill! What type glue did you use for the glue-up?

Thanks Brian. I used titebond II, and hit the moradillo with acetone before gluing.

Looks pretty good to me and if it functions perfectly - what more could you ask for from a first? Nice work!
