I've got a "Porta-Plane" that I originally acquired for door hanging. My plans changed, and I will not be going into business. Woodworking will remain a hobby for me. I know too many starving carpenters to try that route. I'd like to know about other uses other owners have found for this "single purpose" tool. I can think of a couple, but I know that you folks have a lot more experience in the wooden world than I. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I hardly ever found another use for mine because of the fence being attached and the sole being so long. I always wanted the Porter Cable electric block plane. It was short, about 7" long. They were great for everything else like scribing trim or a counter top. Too many people managed to get their fingers in the blade so it was discontinued in favor of a model with a sanding drum for a cutter. (Did not last long on the market)
