Bill, those are neat! But, the best part of the whole thing was a father/daughter duo - GREAT!! I think the two of you may have a future in the entertainment business.

That's clever. Is that Kip of the Rex and Kip Pen fame?

The video clip is from one of their DVD, Woodturning Projects Volume I. If you're not familiar with this series of videos, I suggest you check them out. There are, currently, four DVDs in the series.

Just FYI, volume I includes the following projects:

Bud Vase
Christmas Ornament
Green Bowl
Spinning Top
Wall Clock
and, Curly Fries (using real potatoes)

Good way to get a kid or spouse interested in turning too!

Honestly I think they've got something there. Anyone remember the hand crank apple pealers? Something similar would be a great idea for potatoes. I'd much prefer that over slicing up and putting on the BBQ.

So I tried this with my wife last weekend. It's not as easy as it looks for the novice turner. :o It was a huge mess! But we had fun, and they tasted good after cooking them in a skillet with a little olive oil.

The video is pretty cool! I will have to give it a whirl too!

Joe, It looks as though you and your wife had fun with the potatoe's! The smiles on your faces show that for sure!

Thanks for posting the video Bill!

My kids would love this,

I bet a white potato would turn better than a russet!
