Thinking about building my 26-gallon upright compressor into a cabinet, both to reduce the noise (it's a oil-less unit) and make it easier to wheel around the shop.
Any of you guys already do something like this?

I've been thinking about this as well, though I don't plan on wheeling mine around the shop because I think it'll always be in the way. I'd rather run pipe or just put a hose winder on the outside.
My plan is to build baffles on the top and bottom that look like two opposing and interlocking U's. I planned to carpet the insides of the baffles to reduce noise. I thought it would be best to do the baffle on the top to allow heat to escape, but I may do one on top and bottom to create a convection current which will naturally cool the compressor.

What do you plan to run with it? If it cycles much, heat would definitely be an issue. If the tank drains itself, make sure you take that into account.
