I bought two V gouges this year and constantly find one of them in my hand. My other tools are getting the cold shoulder. I turned my own handles and find that I indeed only have to sharpen about half as much. Enjoy! John

Good choice Kevin. You will like the 1/2"V and should start saving your nickels for the 3/8"V too. Both of mine get daily use. The 5/8"V is a bit big for stuff turned recently, but it will get its chance in time.
