I find the SMC forum to be the best at what it does.i.e. provide a way for people to exchange information in a civil manner. I feel I've benefited greatly from the expert answers I have gotten to my many questions. The people on this forum are by far the most knowledgeable of any forum I participate in.
I also follow the stock market & have yet to find a forum which discusses stocks in the way we do here at SMC. Does anyone know of a good stock market forum?
Thanks
Dennis

I spent about 2 years trying to learn to trade using technical analysis. During that time I thought this was the best forum that I had come across. However, it is not a particularly friendly or supportive place - as you will see by reading through some of the threads. It is also geared more toward trading then investing. Good luck.

It has been a while since I visited the site and it is not really a forum but Motley Fool has a lot of good investment information as does CBS's Internet financial site.

I also was going to recommend Motley Fool.

The problem with stock forums is you never know who has an agenda. If I post a question on SMC about which jointer to buy, it's unlikely people will recommend Grizzly because they're going to profit from it. Not so with stock recommendations. Although, I suppose one could learn about basic things like PE ratios, and such.

What's really interesting is, based on my research, the dart board method beats Wall Street analysts every time. (That is, you tape the stock pages on the wall and randomly throw darts from across the room. Then you buy whatever the darts hit.)

Hands down this IS the best message board out there, administration WILL not put up with any BS. Many full time professional investors. Again take every thing with a grain of salt, compared to yahoo there is none better.
