Surgery is behind us ... UPDATE

Sandra's surgery was done yesterday. As Dr Hall explained it ... it couldn't have gone better even if he'd been able to plan it that way.

The lemon sized tumor was contained within the colon wall ... had not penetrated to the outside, had not attached itself to anything beyond the colon ... there were several lymphs removed as is standard with this surgery but none looked the least bit suspicious .. the liver and spleen were unaffected. He removed about 30" of colon to give us a strong margin.

So .. it appears that we've been blessed with the answer to our prayers and to those from all the Sawmill Creek folks for us.

Wonderful news, Ken. Get her up and walking as soon as she's able. I know the day after my surgery, I didn't feel like doing anything but hitting the pain med button, but walking is the best thing she can do for a speedy recovery. In fact, the hospital staff got VERY tired of seeing me do laps around the hospital floor. Best wishes for a healthy and speedy recovery. Dave.
