Here is the first batch of ornaments for the year! I just got word from my cousin that the new gallery location is doing a booming business!! She says she need more and they are putting up a big Christmas tree in the lobby and need some decorations. So here are the first 5 and the next set in another post. They average about 3-3.5" body and from 4 to 7" with top and finials.

Pretty cool stuff... I really like the ones where you left the bark on the body of the ornament. Can't wait to see the next group.

Jeff,

These ornaments are wonderful. Each has lots of interesting details that set them apart from the ordinary. Outstanding work!

I am curious how much time it takes you to make the two tone ornaments. Beautiful by the way.:)

Great looking ornaments Jeff. Am curious how much those retail for in your area? I must target a somewhat lower tier market, so mine are very basic by comparison.

Very cool, i like the birch ones the most, them seem the most authentic.

Well I probably have close to an hour in each one, and a lot of that is sanding and finishing. I am pretty fussy on the finish and that is what sells them

Prices range from say $23-$30 and maybe a few less if they are smaller, and a few have been a little more depending on the amount of detail, different woods etc. I turn all the brass perches and eyelets also so that takes a little fussy time too! I don't like the round screw in ones as they are not as nice looking. The more elaborate I make them the faster they go out the door, so I decided that was the way to go.

Good luck to all who are making ornaments of some type,

Jeff

I forgot to say where I get the little birds. I get them at Michael's here in town and they are the 1"-1 1/2" in legnth ones. The ones with the feather tail are a little longer because of the feathers. THey usually have them in packages of 2-4 and sometimes 6. I need to go get some more as I have only a couple left.
