Just wanted to say hi and that you have another one in the vortex. I have been reading this forum for awhile and doing a lot of research. Watched a lot of videos and got a couple of books. So last night I jumped in feet first anyway. Went to Woodcarft and bought a Delta 46-460, slow speed grinder and a Wolverine sharpening jig they were 10% off. Stopped at Harbor Fright and picked up a set of turning tools was told those are a good set to start with. Got it setup last night and turned a few spindles. I think I might have got my son sucked in also.

Jim - Welcome to the Creek! Been hearing a lot of good things about that model lathe - so it should serve you well!

Looking forward to seeing photos of your first bonkers! Just in case, here is a short tutorial on how to post photos: http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=25115

Congratulations and welcome. That lathe is a very nice machine, had mine for 3-4 months now. Learning will be a lot of fun.

Welcome!

It is a great hobby, just be careful, unlike me who it seems like I might as well just direct deposit my paycheck right to the many great suppliers....

Pics of any kind are welcomed here. Also once you turn a Pen if you do, KEEP that first one, to look back on a year form now.....
