Veterans Day

I have several friend and relatives in the military. I also served in the USN. My plans to make a veterans project today fell through, but I returned home, logged on to the laptop, and saw this:

Today's post was a nice reminder and remembrance, albeit unconventional.

Yes, I know hats aren't everyone's thing. But, for a girl who does a great impression of a hedgehog at the mere thought of actual violence, let alone combat, she has always done her best to recognize those who serve our country. (I should know, shes my wife.)

Very nice tribute. It's hard to believe that one of my grade school teachers (1950's) had us memorize that poem. The times, they are a-changing.

Little bit off-topic but - the Military channel ran a couple of Medal of Honor shows today - Vietnam rescuers and medics. Current day interviews with men that won this honor took my breath away.
