Peppermill Marking

Where do you mark your peppermills (bottom of base, bottom of cap, other)?
What do you use to mark the peppermill (pen, engraver, laser, other)?
What do you include in the mark (artist's name, wood type, date, other)?

This may be the answer. I never thought of marking the peppermills I've made so far. Not really enough room.

I would sign on the bottom

I use an archive pen to sign bowls, as reccommended by Steve S. Should work for the PM.

I would put wood species and date.

I put my name only, inside on the lip made by the a 1 5/8 drill bit.
