Steadyrest - Video 4

Another 3 minute video of a steadyrest insert I made. I didn't get a picture of all the finished spindles, but they were about 24" long and made of African Mahogany. Even though I was turning near the ends they vibrated all over the place so I had to figure out a setup to turn these. I actually could have made the collar longer for more rigidity I suppose. I hope the next video will be a top turning one -fun.

Nice clever idea. Like you I make many of my own tools. I would be interested in seeing a close up of your beading tool and learning your process to make it.
