well I finally got some shop time after finishing the storage building so I have turned a couple of bowls. one is redwood burl that I picked up on the side of the road while we were in California it is 6X4 1/4" thick and the other is a piece of plum burl that came from my Dads house in South Carolina 10X5 1/4" it not finished yet it just has sanding sealer on it ....guess I will have to wait till after the huricane to finish it...........comments and critiques welcome
PS sorry about the pics (cell phone )

Nice pieces. I like them both. The sanding sealer looks like a french polish in the photos! Batten down the hatches and ride out the storm.

Both pieces are nice but I like the plum Burl a lot... It's a beautiful rich brown color. Good luck and stay dry.

Nice work David! Love the Plum! Very different looking wood!
Best of luck with the storm! My son lives close to Mobile and he is expecting a lot of rain but not much more. Hope all goes well.
Looking forward to seeing the bowls finished!
