Anybody got a good recommendation? I would like to tap off the main power, although it is 220V

240v light bulbs is the easiest solution. (European countries are all 240v residential)

Second option is to simply wire your light as a separate circuit with a 120v plug.

Otherwise, you will need a neutral wire brought to the saw to get 120v from the 240v feed. DO NOT use the ground wire as your neutral. You could also use a 240/120 transformer, but this is much more work & expense.

I have that one mounted with a right angle bracket to the frame, and I'm pretty pleased. re: electrical, what's your setup?

I put a 110 volt work light on my 220 volts bandsaw. I used what's called a travel transformer to make 110 from the 220. They're sold to allow travelers to take their 110 volt electronics to places where the electricity is 220. I had one around, but you can get at places like Amazon for $15 or so.

If you use a compact flourscent (sp) bulb in your bandsaw light, you'll like it.

I have 2 of those with CFL bulbs, one on the band saw, one on the drill press. They work great.
