Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with the MLCS dado set?

That looks like the Oshlun set that many folks sell for under $100

At $130 I don't think it's worth taking a chance on...there are several well proven sets for less, and for a just a bit more....the Oshlun being one of them. Holbren (http://www.holbren.com/oshlun-saw-blades/)carries that set and the 6" for a lot less, plus offers 10% for using the "SMC10" discount code. The MLCS and the Oshlun set appear to be based on the $300 Systimastic 42T/6T set, which is excellent but expensive. HF carries a set that looks similar but I believe it uses softer carbide. The Oshlun and MLCS uses C4.

Other options - for $180 shipped, the Infinity Dadonator (http://www.infinitytools.com/Dadonator-8-Stacked-Dado-Set/productinfo/SDB-800/) is downright impressive. For $103 shipped, the DeWalt/Delta 7670 from Grizzly is very good. The Freud SD208 for ~ $90 is also very good but has fewer teeth.

You might consider the Avanti dado set how available at HD. Avanti has come under fire recently for an apparent degradation in quality, but I persnally haven't seen it at least on the 10" ts blades I've purchased.

I have the Freud 6" SD206. It's ok.

I think the recent confusion and degradation around the "Avanti" name is stemmed from the fact that Freud discontinued the Avanti line as of June 2009. There is still some Freud TK/Avanti stock in stores, but HD has begun selling an "Avanti" and "Avanti Pro" line that is made in China, is NOT made by Freud, does not have the Freud name, and is much lower quality than the former Freud Avanti line. Buyer beware.

AFAIK, the Freud Avanti dado set is the same as the SD206/SD208 and Freud Diablo dado set...12T cutters with 2T chippers.
