Well I got my grinder setup and built a sharpening jig for it. I used MDF scraps I had just to see if it will work. Plan on redoing it with some 3/4 ply for stability soon.
Also need to work on the end piece to work with sharpening the skew.
I have to say, if there is any new turners reading this, do yourself a HUGE favor and pick up a grinder, mine is a ryobi from the orange store, not a slow speed normal, with stock wheels. The jig took about an hour to make and BOY is there is difference in turning when you have a sharp tool!
Also included a pic of the messy I know lathe, I just love the shavings a sharp tool makes, did two pens in less then 45 mins! :)
