Thanks to a thread below in which Alan Turner mentioned a free photo resizer I think I can finally post some pic's. This is a pic of my first commission, a walnut extension table. It was a barter transaction in which the customer ordered and I received a 1023s table saw. I have not even unpacked it yet as I just new that would delay the completion of the table! Tyler, please be patient and I'll post those pic's soon. I also will post the completed project pic's tomorrow as I'm rubbing out the finish and delivering the table tomorrow. That being said, man I hope this works!

I can hardly wait to see it finished. Love walnut. How many leaves for the table? It looks like it could seat 10. Nice work!

It actually isn't that big, he has a specific spot for it and gave me the dimensions he wanted 36x60 with two 11" leaves for an open size of 36x82. It is a little odd but it suits him and that suits me!

Jerry,
A nice looking and very strightforward table, well executed. Looks like about $150 of walnut, plus the hdw, etc., so say $225 cost . . . You might think about raising your prices a bit, unless your "client" was a pretty good friend. There is a minimum wage, you know.
Someone turned me on to pixresizer, and the price was right. Glad you like it.

So Jerry - do you not have a TS, or are you upgrading?

Table looks good. 30" tall? Homemade wooden slides or purchased? What are you finishing it with?

Great looking table! Just love working with walnut. What kind of finish are you going to be using on it?

Jerry, glad to see you got the picture thing worked out. The table looks very nice. You did a nice job of matching that walnut. Do you have to make the chairs as well? Thanks for sharing.

Can't wait to see the finished product, love the grain in walnut. I'm a Wal nut.

I would make everytning out of it but the wife is partial to lighter woods.

Jerry, beautiful table. I love the walnut. I am just finishing up a new kitchen table that is made from maple and walnut. Be sure to post pics of the finished piece.

Be well,

All done. Here is the rundown and thank you all for your kind words. Hope I answer everyone's questions here. It is 36"wx60"lx30"h with two 11" leaves for a total 82". The leaves self store underneath on brackets that hang from the slides. It's a tung oil finish with satin spar urethane. The slides are from LV at about $50.00. I underbid it when I bartered for a brand new 1023s but it's my first commission and I'm hoping for more business and referrals. I do own a 15 yr old craftsman saw but wanted to upgrade to a cabinet saw. I'm thinking of saving the craftsman for dedicated dadoing and coupling the two saws with a table board with router undermount (which is my current setup) so I can use the fence for all three. Now to unpack that saw....

Jerry it is great. The clean lines and beautiful wood choices make it a very attractive piece. I guess it will seat 8? Very nice job! When do you start on the matching chairs, sideboard, china hutch... You get all that done and you will have a complete shop full of new tools. :p

Looks fantastic.:D

As for keeping your old saw, I would. I made a mistake by selling my old saw when I purchased my 1023S in 1994. Sure would be handy to keep the dado blade on. But---its gone.
