As you may recall, I'm getting a 3520B for my wife's Christmas present. Woodcraft is participating in Powermatic's 15% off sale, so the price was down to $2900.

With Bing cash-back and avoiding sales tax, I would be able to get the same lathe for about $200 less off the internet. So, with nothing to lose, I talked with my local Woodcraft's manager and asked what she could do. I was hoping she might throw in $100 worth of stuff and I'd have been happy.

However, after some back and forth, I ended up with the bed extension, a Stronghold chuck, and several other accessories I was planning to buy anyway at severe discounts, saving me about $500!

Now, since I saved $500, that means I can spend $500 on stuff for me, right?

Clearly, you have learned well from your wife about that "I saved $XXXX on that sale" mantra - thank God that thought process still exists! I thought the economy had killed it, but it lives!! Hmmmm, maybe that is the saviour of the economy?????

Congrats on the haul!!

You sure don't mess around when it comes to Christmas Cliff! Are you planning on surprising your wife or does she already know about the lathe?

Cliff,

You certainly have my permission but I'm not sure it's worth much! And ....please don't mention my name to the LOYL!:D

It's your money to spend Cliff, not mine, but......I hope you seriously think about spending some of that money that Woodcraft saved you "at Woodcraft:)". Not my business, but I'm just sayin':).

Cliff,
The way I cypher it out is:
Your wife, you and the manager= 3.
3 x $500.00= $1500.00
WOW!, what a deal.
Good luck and you are on your own.
