I turned this winged natural edge bowl and thought it would display better vertically. It is about 8" X 10" X 3". So I created a simple stand of a scrap of maple with a slot cut in it with my BS.

That got me thinking about a different way to display this small Bradford Pear bowl. It is approx. 5" in diameter. So I made a little stand out of the bowl blank scrap the bowl was cut from.

Comments and critiques welcome.

Mike - winged bowls are hard to display - so your vertical stand makes a lot of sense! I do like your version of a stand for a traditional bowl! Be great for a sales display! Great idea!

i think those stands of yours are great - they show the origin of your wood art, as well as give a background that bows to your art! mike

First off, both of those pieces are awesome and secondly their display is very cool, might have to steal that from you one day.

Mike,
Not only do the stands look great, your bowls look great too. I think its a wonderful idea to show how the wood looked before the magic occurred. It gives the pieces a sense of completion. Well Done!
