Is This Online Dealer Legit?

I work with a very nice woman who found a killer deal online for a Sony LCD TV. A caution flag went up with me when she mentioned the web site accepts payment only from Western Union. Also, I can't find any outside references to this web site. I sure don't want to see my coworker get ripped off.

My wife works at a bank and she's always telling me about Western Union scams. So, perhaps I'm just being paranoid. But, as I see it, if there's any problem with an order and you paid via Western Union. You have absolutely no recourse.

No,

there are a lot of sites that offer templates to web designers to use. I have seen that site as a template on at least three others,

The Computer Store, and the slogan is stock to the template. I personally wouldnt risk it.

Oh, I see. Yeah, that's another red flag. Thanks for the info, Dennis.

Luckily, my coworker started getting suspicious even before I politely cautioned her. She did some digging on the domain name and found it was stood up only a few days ago.

I'm very glad she was also suspicious. Sometimes people get angry when I politely point out red flags. This person is way cool and I wouldn't want her angry at me. (But, I guess if she was the type that got angry, she wouldn't be way cool, would she? :))

Total scam. Domain name was only registered on Oct 29th.

There have been a number of sites like this created in recent weeks with ridiculously low prices, but only accepting Western Union. They may all be the same person for all we know.

Google the UK office. It comes back to the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. I find it hard to believe they're selling hi end electronics. Run away!!
