Woodmaster Drum Sander Velcro Replacement

I'm installing new velcro (purchased from Woodmaster) on my drum sander and have a question. There is about 1/8" on either side of the velcro that is smooth; do I overlap or just butt the velcro tight. I'm assuming that I just butt it tightly together, but want to make sure. Thanks.

Just butt it. As close as you can without overlapping. Small gaps (1/16" or less) not a problem.

Bringing back an old thread, does anyone have any tips on how to get started installing the velcro? Im having trouble getting the velcro to line up properly. Do you start at one end or in the middle?

Start at one end. Cut the angle to match the old Velcro, line the angled end up to the end of the drum & wrap it around the drum. Keep it pulled tight as you wrap.
