looks almost identical to my old grizzly 6" jointer, just the base is a little different

Must just be something that they rebrand, because i have a ~1987 ( i believe) grizzly that is identical, with the exception of the base. mine is similar but is open completely on the in/outfeed sides. no DC whatsoever. Works good though, smooth flat cut

Definitely HF. I just sold mine for $100. They are almost $300 new. I had purchased mine 9 years ago and didn't put it together until about 5 months ago. Then when I fell into (figuratively, not literally) a new jointer, the HF needed to go. Mine was in better shape than that, though. I will say, I was expecting it to be a lot worse than it was. The cut was smooth. The tables true.

Down sides: Dust collection! Even with a makeshift (but air tight) dust hood that I made for it on the front side, just as many shavings came out the infeed side. Secondly, 110 only.

All in all, I hate to say it, but for $100, it isn't a horible buy. Of course, in that condition, maybe $75 would be more appropriate.

Oh, and that might be a 7" jointer, too. Mine was. I didn't know they made both a 6" and 7". But that looks just like my 7".

I'd say HF, too. I had the same jointer for a few years; it worked fine and I didn't have any problems with it. I sold it last year and got a Griz 8" with a helical head that I like WAY better, though.

Well I offered him 75 and he turned it down, so will continue to look for a good one.

Also picked up a roybi 6" grinder from the Orange Borg today, But trying to see what size arbor is on it is proving hard. Just nned to figure it out so I know what size wheel to get when I replace them tomorrow..
