Are we "laserers" or "laser operators" or can somebody think of a better name?

I've been called a "laserhead" over on the turners' forum...
dunno if that qualifies as a term of endearment or what.

"Photon wrangler" sounds a bit more professional somehow.

How about the simple yet descriptive "Laser Engraver"

I would lean towards something like "Laser Materials Processor" as we do more than just engrave.

On a more serious note, why would you want to be identified with the tools you use rather than the products you create?

Technician in charge of the amiplification of light by emitted radiation.

Therefore, I guess I am a radiologist...

Eitherway...

Laserhead =$10 bucks an hour salary.

Technician in charge of the amiplification of light by emitted radiation. = $ 40 bucks an hour salary plus it looks way cooler on a resume...

Noxious fumes seems to be the most plentiful thing produced in my shop when the laser's running.

I vote for laserist, but must admit I'm tempted to use radiologist . However more impressive, I guess the pay is the same...

My neighbors call me......Stinky.Yeah, but what does that have to do with lasers?
(rimshot)

Tee it up a little higher, I didn't get a full swing at the last one.

.So we'll put your vote down for "aromatherapist".

I like "light meige". My son says that in the game world a meige is usualy the most powerful charactor, and we definantly have a few charactors here.

Thanks Lee! Now I have to clean the coffee off of my monitor. The coffee that was in my mouth prior to reading your post. That is hysterical! I laugh every time I think about it! :D Wonder if they sell that color paint at the borg . . . think I'll go in and ask just to confuse the paint guy!

Probably, but I think you have to speak in a thick French accent when ordering it... a look of utter disdain on your face to anyone around you may help.

Made my day even if the joke is on me. Laughed for an hour, and my wife laughed so hard she may not recover.
