Well I finally had a minute to breath and get the pictures posted of the last group of turnings I posted last week. So here they are, these first ones are a 12" tall spalted red maple vase with black walnut base and flared top. A black walnut NE bowl with an undulating rim and hard maple accents in bottom. It is 8"x2.5" with danish oil finish. The last is a spalted yellow birch vessel about 6"x3" More in the next post.

Very nice work on everything Jeff! Like the others - the vase really stands out to me. Almost has an Art-Deco feel to it with the angular top. Nice work on the birch hollow form! Interesting detail you added to the lip!

Hope these all sell quickly!

The vase is one of my favorites too! I have a pretty good price on it so I hope it sells! It is just a hair thicker than 1/8" on the side walls. I have a few more pieces of the log left so more to come!

Thanks again for all the great comments!

Very nice stuff... I like the last one the best but they're all nice. Are the maple accents their to replace the pith? If so that's pretty creative.

Beautiful. To be a contrarian...
I really like the 3rd and 4th pieces. They are so organic and flowing. The way the walnut grain rings are oriented...really looks like the wood was meant to be turned into that.

nice work, jeff. are the three light wood discs to cover some splitting in the pith of the bowl, or purely decorative? when that happens to me again in the future (and i know it will) i may try something like that. mike
