I have a Grizzly G-1021 planer with a leaky oil seal. It's the 25x47x7mm that seals the shaft where is comes through the chain gaurd. I hate to pay $7 shipping for a $1 part. Anyone know an auto supply part number that would fit?

Thanks for helping a tightwad.

All you have to do is call your local bearing supplier--motion industries, kaman supply etc. and tel them the size of the seal you need. They should be able to supply it.

Also be sure to check the shaft to be sure there isn't a groove worn around the shaft that would cause the leak.

Auto parts store should be able to source it too. If there are any numbers on the seal itself they will be able to cross reference it to a number they either have or can get.

For 8 bucks I would just order the seal, doubt you will find one locally for a buck.
