I was just wondering if there was a knockoff brand somewhere out there. When you are using thousands these things can get pricey.

I have not found any knockoffs. But there is an auction on the bay selling 500 for 39.50 or best offer. That sounds like a good price for the W3 size.

Well, you can make your own (in fact Hoffman will sell you the router bit), but I imagine the plastic ones are patented. I wouldn't want to mess around with different durometers on something that I have to warranty. I use them for mitered cabinet doors, at 8 per door. But that's still only something like 1% of the overall average door price.
