I am a long time lurker on this site...I've always been amazed at the work all of you do. Here is my latest project, a desk for my son. It was my first attempt at raised panels (gave me reason to build a new router table). I hope the picture works

Welcome to the 'Creek Steve! Nice desk! How did you finish it? Prior to moving to Idaho 22 years ago, I lived in Joliet. Commuting from hospitals in Chicago I used the Plainfield exit on US-30 exit on I-55 IIRC to get to my house in Joliet. Traveling to a hospital in Aurora, I traveled through Plainfield.
Again....nice desk and Welcome to the 'Creek!

Purty, purty, purty, Steve!

I shacked up in Chicago-land for 2 1/2 years: Naperville, Des Plaines, and finally Mount Prospect. :)

Ooh, ooh! Mighty purty work! Don't you just love being able to use the line " I need this or that for your project honey". Even better when it's for the first born. Never get a refusal! Very nice and welcome.

Steve, welcome! There's nothing better than a project that helps justify new tools! Nice job on this desk. The panels look just right.

Welcome to the Creek Steve! Very nice desk, I'm sure your son (and maybe your grandson) will put in many hours of study at that desk. I'm thinking about building one similar for my son.

Did you follow any specific plan? If so, can you share some details?

Steve,

Welcome to the Creek. Really nice work - looks like the left side houses a computer tower? Geez - I remember when having a pen set and blotter on the desk was the cats meow - now it's iPods and speakers! I'm sure he loves it - even if he doesn't say so.

Wes

PS - Went to school with a Plainfield guy, Joe Murphy, long time ago.

Steve,

Nice desk. Did you build your router table, or buy one? I too live in Plainfield. I have been a member for a couple of years, but I do more looking and reading and learning than I do contributing.
